Cadnant Planning successfully obtained planning permission for our client, Zip World, for new Fforest alpine coaster development at Zip World Fforest in Snowdonia National Park. Following detailed and thorough pre-application discussions between Cadnant Planning and SNPA officers, the application was recommended for approval by officers and was supported unanimously by SNPA’s Planning Committee.
The proposal will complement the existing tourism offer available at Zip World Fforest which currently includes a tree top adventure course, Zip Safari and Sky Ride.
The Zip World Fforest Alpine Coaster would be the first of its type in the UK and represents significant investment by Zip World Fforest to enhance the tourism offer available at the site and the wider local area. The Fforest Alpine Coaster is a gravity driven ride with toboggan cars on elevated tracks running through the existing trees at Zip World Fforest. The course will be over 1km-long and will give families and adventure seekers the ultimate thrill, descending through the trees overlooking the beautiful Conwy Valley.
Works are currently underway to discharge relevant planning conditions and the attraction is set to open in Easter 2017.
